In 2006 (the inaugural TEAM 4), thanks to all of the hard work and dedication of the athletes and committee members; $92,090 was raised during the racing season. Of which $23,022 (25%) was distributed to breast cancer research and $69,066 (75%) to GYN cancer research. These funds are currently being held in the appropriate Cancer Center accounts in which in the fall of 2007, the Cancer Center ’s Grants Committee will put out a request for proposals. Researchers from throughout the College will submit proposals to be reviewed by a scientific peer review panel. Projects that the panel deems worthy will receive funding. Once distrubuted; TEAM 4 will be notified and given specifics of how money was spent.
