TEAM 4 was founded in 2006 by Professional Triathlete Heather Haviland, who lost her mother to cervical cancer. Since then, over 80 women have joined Heather in her race to find a cure.
TEAM 4 is a team of female triathletes, from first timers to veterans, that raise money in the fight against the four cancers most likely to affect women – breast, uterine, ovarian and cervical. While the team trains for triathlons of all distances from the 140.6 mile Ironman to a 16 mile sprint; they will not only be aiming for the finish line, but promoting healthy lifestyles to other women along the way and raising funds to find a cure for cancer.
The team is heading into its fourth year and has raised over $170,000 for breast and gynecological research through the Medical College of Wisconsin. The women of TEAM 4 span generations and athletic ability. Several are cancer survivors and many have watched moms, sisters and friends win and lose battles with cancer. It is important to note that we are not backed by a non-profit organization with a large budget and infrastructure. We are a team of women making a powerful and significant impact on our community one step and one dollar at a time.
Please consider joining us in our race by becoming a member of TEAM 4 or making a donation. Every effort, both great and small, makes a collective difference.
