TEAM 4 is committed in the race to fight cancer.  We will inspire women to live healthy lifestyles in all we do.  We believe that education, early detection and support will lead to more lives free of cancer.

What's New

October was National Breast Cancer Awareness Month...

...and because it's such an important issue, we'd like to carry on the month a bit longer. :) Know the steps you need to take to reduce your risk of cancer as well as the steps you need to take towards early detection. 

An Early Breast Cancer Detection Plan should include:

  • Beginning at age 20: Performing breast self-exams and looking for any signs of change.
  • Age 20 to 39: Scheduling clinical breast exams every three years.
  • By the age of 40: Having a baseline mammogram and annual clinical breast exams.
  • Ages 40 to 49: Having a mammogram every one to two years depending on previous findings.
  • Ages 50 and older: Having a mammogram every year. 
  • All Ages:— Recording personal exams, mammograms and doctors'
    appointments on a calendar or in a detailed file.
    — Maintaining a healthy weight, following a low-fat diet, getting regular exercise, quitting smoking, and reducing alcohol consumption.

Create a personalized early detection plan at www.nationalbreastcancer.org. Reminders can be sent to you in a variety of different ways, just specify your age and indicate your notification preferences.
